SoapUI automation with AWS S3

I am using Ready API to carry out Service Testing for one of my projects which is based out of REST calls. The service will take the information from the incoming request and save it in the form of an xml file in AWS S3 bucket folder.

Currently I am manually logging into the AWS console to make sure the xml file exists or not in S3 bucket folder.

But I am trying to automate something in the SoapUI to check the existence of the XML file in S3 bucket.

Can someone please give some information or any thoughts in setting up the AWS S3 configuration in SOAPUI to make it automated. Thanks in advance

  • You can do this one of two ways,

    1. Using the AWS sample project as a base, apply the auth method to S3 HTTP requests;

    S3 WSDL

    2.  Generate your key yourself using a groovy script,  this is VERY heavy handed, but it works;

    Into the request itself you need to set the following headers;

    • Authorization
    • x-amz-content-sha256
    • Host
    • x-amz-date

    (i de-paramatized this example for the sake of ease, but if I made any mistake, please do point them out and I'll correct them)

    Into the request itself you need to set the following headers;

    • Authorization
    • x-amz-content-sha256
    • Host
    • x-amz-date

    (i de-paramatized this example for the sake of ease, but if I made any mistake, please do point them out and I'll correct them)

        Hi swini123,

        This is the ReadyAPI forum - so, questions around SoapUI Pro are asked here. As far as I see, groovy script is used in this example. I think it should work well in SoapUI OS.

        BTW, I recommend that you start a new topic instead of replying to 2+ years topic. Please describe the situation you faced and what you want to achieve in detail.

    I am no voice about AWS.

    But in general how do you connect AWS? And what kind of configuration does it have? So, that we can see if that is supported / possible to implement in SoapUI software.

      Thanks for the response Rao..

      I am connecting to AWS by configuring OAUTH authentication and sending some file location details (to grab from AWS S3 bucket) in the request.

    Hi,

    You cannot login to console using soapUI because it have various operations like enter in textbox or click button but if you have host details for AWS then you can write java code to access the file system of AWS and enter path of your location in S3 folder and using groovy script you can verify that your xml file is getting generated or not.

      Can you map the AWS as a network drive? That might be one way of doing it, and then use a groovy script to verify the file exists.

        Hi,

        Thanks for the reply.

        I am a kind of new Bee to the Soap UI service Testing. I am not sure how we can map the AWS as a network drive. Can you be little detailed please.

        Regards,
