TestComplete End of Life and Support Roadmap

Hi,

 We are in the process of ordering for a copy of TestComplete 11.31 after a very good Evaluation result.

I would like to know the End Of Life, Annual Support package and Obsolescence timeline for TestComplete 11.0 series.

I did not find details here: https://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/75265/

With regards,

Vikram U

  • Hi Vikram,

    If I got your question right and in addition to the previous answers:

    -- SmartBear usually releases new major versions of TestComplete on the annual basis;

    -- You are eligible for free minor updates if you have active maintenance subscription (talk to your Sales representative for more details);

    -- There are discounted upgrade prices for the major versions for those who have active maintenance subscription (and you may talk to the Sales if your maintenance subscription has expired :) );

    -- Usually, maintenance subscription is active for one year which means that you always have a chance to upgrade for a lower price;

    -- TestComplete licenses are perpetual which means that you can use previous versions of TestComplete as long as they do what you need and you don't need a support for never technologies/browsers/mobile OSes/etc.;

    -- With the new major release, usually no patches are created for the previous TestComplete versions, though browser patches are supported for some limited time.
